This online application is only for students of the CAU! Students at HAW Kiel (formerly FH) must submit their application via the HAW AStA website.
Instructions for filling out the application for refund of the semester ticket fee
In the first field, please enter the semester in question for which the paid-in fee is to be refunded. The postal address should be the one where we can currently reach you.
Required documents:
- When indicating “de-registration/cancellation of enrollment,” please enclose a COPY of the relevant certificate and the transfer receipt for the semester for which you are requesting a refund. Refunds due to de-registration are only permitted if the de-registration takes place by the end of the first month of the semester.
- When indicating “leave of absence,” please enclose a COPY of your certificate of enrollment with the note “on leave.”
- If you indicate “double degree,” please provide the relevant enrollment certificates from CAU and the other university where the DE semester ticket is offered, as well as confirmation that no refund for the ticket has been requested there.
- When indicating “free transportation due to disability,” please enclose a COPY of the relevant ID card.
- If you indicate “Non-use of public transport due to disability,” please enclose a COPY of the relevant ID card.
- When indicating “study period outside the semester ticket collection area,” please enclose a COPY of your certificate of enrollment and the relevant proof (Erasmus form/internship contract/confirmation from the other university/etc.). We must be able to verify that you are not in the semester ticket collection area for study or research purposes. This also applies to doctoral studies.
- If you indicate “Barrier to entry: visa problems, unable to enter Germany through no fault of your own,” please enclose the relevant evidence or a COPY of the relevant evidence (VISA correspondence, residence permit, screenshot of flight bans, screenshot of entry bans, medical certificate/etc., if applicable). We must be able to verify that you are unable to enter the semester ticket collection area through no fault of your own.
Stating that you do not need the semester ticket or do not live in Kiel is not sufficient grounds for a refund.
Deadlines for submitting applications: Generally by the end of the first month of the semester (April/October)!
